You have already decided your ski vacation will be in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. Longing for the little village at the base of the slopes creates the urge to begin planning your ski trip. But it hit me that all of my past ski vacation have included a party of friends along for the experience. We all made our way to Denver, drove across the divide heading west along I-70, catching up on stories, laughing and taking in the sites along the snow covered roads on the way to our ski resort. We have arrived in Colorado Ski country and we love it! After the mild trek to get to Breckenridge, which is an integral part of the experience, we hunt down our ski resort in the old town of Breckenridge, check in and disperse into our own rooms. After some in-resort phone tag we decide to meet in the lobby to go out for dinner, so we can continue our vacation together. And this where it hit me for the first time more later. Our noise level grew quickly as we met in the lobby of the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Finally we made our way down Main Street to search for a good meal. Later, after a few of Colorado's finest buffalo wings, we make our way back to the ski resort, synchronize our time to ski in the morning and retire back to our rooms. Again, I had that funny feeling inside. The entire skiing experience was perfect. The slopes of Breckenridge, weather and the runs are in perfect condition. Each day we met at the slopes and later dined together. But there was one problem, we are only together half of the trip. Not long after arriving the first day at our Breckenridge Colorado Ski Resort it hit me. Why are we at a ski resort in different rooms? It occurred to me that we should have rented a condo or home in Breckenridge. If we had throught to rent a condo rental or home, we could have had a perfect solution to the limited time together! Someone mentioned renting a house would have been better than the ski resort. Before we knew it we all decided to look into renting either a condo or home for our next Breckenridge ski vacation.
