Travel Writers Are Always in Demand
As long as there are people that wish to travel, there is
a market for Travel Writers. When you are researching
a destination or itinerary for a holiday, you generally look
into other people's recommendations and Tips before getting
there. This information could not be possible about
your destination unless there were a Travel Writer to tackle
the minutia. A Travel Writer can write about any topic
they choose on a destination, or combine all of their
stories together and provide a detailed Trip Diary, or
Travelogue.
Travelogues are gaining a lot of credibility
on the internet and web as more and more people are becoming
"Amateur Travel Writers". What better a place to get a
start at travel writing, and a handle on what people want to
read about, and other ideas to help you write about other
topics. You do not need to have a Graduate Degree to
be a successful Travel Writer, just a good sense of relation
to other people and how they will or should feel about a
certain place, thing, or event in your traveling journeys.
Anyone Can Be A Travel Writer
The doors have been open to all interested
parties recently to become a Published Travel Writer.
The hardest part of the job would be exactly what the title
states, and you must write. You cannot avoid this
step, but you do not have to write like Shakespeare either.
A captivating story, or recant of an adventurous situation
is all that you need to plant the seeds to writing a great
article. Picture yourself getting an email while you
sit half-way around the world from home and reading
excitement in your friend's or family's words that they
enjoyed reading your travel article in a magazine.
This idea is not that far-fetched for the average
individual. The advancement of the internet has given
anyone with creativity the ability to become a Travel
Writer.
What Should I Write About?
The hardest part of writing a Travel Article is to
find your topic on what to write about. The list is
endless, and in some cases, you don't have to spend
anything, or go anywhere far. Have you recently taken
a vacation or trip somewhere? Where did you go?
What did you see? Where any special events taking
place while you were there? Each one of these
questions is the beginning of at least 2 articles each.
Follow the chart below for more of an explanation:
Destination: Amsterdam
Duration: 1Week
Travel Article Topics:
Air Flights and the Cheapest way to get there
Comparison of the culture from a person who has
never left their own country.
Comparison of what the city was last like the
last time you were there.
Reviews of all the food that you ate. That
is at least 2 meals a day, and make a Great Article
What the scene in Dam Square is like for a
Tourist on Queen's Day
Difference of Christmas Celebrations compared to
your home country.
As you can see, the possibilities for topics are endless.
Your one trip somewhere can produce multiple articles for
submission if you break it all down and not look at the
whole trip as an article. I learned a lesson when I
was in High School, and it has stuck with me since, and has
contributed to my success today. KISS - Keep It
Simple, Stupid. There is no need for a long-in-depth
travelogue, no-one wants to read that; but they will enjoy
reading about a specific event that happened, or what kind
of exotic foods you sampled.
